The unit will introduce students to the development of food policy from a national and international perspective and the main contemporary issues and debates in the area. Policies affecting agricultural and food businesses are examined and students develop a solid understanding of the agricultural and food policy environment, the policy formulation process, and the role, rationale and economic consequences of government intervention in food and agricultural markets.
